St. Luke with St. Bartholomew

Sunday School

Children between 5 and 13 (sometimes a little younger too!) enjoy exploring the Bible during the St. Luke service on Sundays.

They also have parties and outings scheduled at various times of the year. These have included visits to the zoo and the pantomime.

We have a team of Sunday School leaders who are responsible for planning out the topics to be covered in the sessions. We run the classes as flexibly as possible, depending on the ages and number of children attending.

Classes take place during the St. Luke's Sunday Eucharist, in term-time.

Here is an example of one child's work in a class on Jesus' story of the wise man and the foolish man.

House on Rock

Matthew 7 24:27

"Everyone therefore who hears these words of mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man, who built his house on a rock.

The rain came down, the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat on that house; and it didn't fall, for it was founded on the rock.

Everyone who hears these words of mine, and doesn't do them will be like a foolish man, who built his house on the sand.

The rain came down, the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat on that house; and it fell - and great was its fall."
